The original VTC model provided positive impact, but also some challenges.

  • Many women need more extensive stabilization and education before job skills training, requiring longer program participation.
  • The 21-month cohort model lends toward high attrition for women with growing families.
  • Costs for producing & marketing a clothing brand have significantly increased.
  • Hourly pay for Associates before they are production-ready decreases incentive and increases overhead.

Let’s make greater impact TOGETHER

This pivot will...

  • Expand our support services to address the broader needs of refugee women in Dallas
  • Maximize the impact of every donated dollar invested in our mission

Changing what we sew

We've paused our VTC branded clothing line. However, we’re not stepping away from our social enterprise model. We’re increasing sewing manufacturing for small businesses.

This allows us to:

·Focus on program quality instead of product development

·Reduce overhead costs

·Scale so we can serve more women

Why This Change Matters

By concentrating our efforts on expanded, more high-impact programming, we're positioned to:

Better prepare refugee women for the workforce

Scale the social enterprise so the model can be replicated

in other resettlement cities

Ensure the long-term sustainability of our mission

  • More Lives Changed
